We’ve been working closely alongside Grocon on one of Sydney’s most iconic developments since the Opera House. ‘The Ribbon Sydney’, a breathtaking new development set to transform Sydney’s skyline and form an extraordinary new gateway to the western side of the city’s CBD. Though much of this work over the last 5 years has been behind the scenes, the time has come where we can share some of the public works. The buildings visual identity, public website and the recent design of the sites construction hoarding.
Being such a prominent public site, it was important to engage and inspire those passing by. To excite them about the future of the area and tie in the Darling Harbours new brand spirit.
Let’s look to the future together
We want people who see this design to engage with it as they walk/scroll past and feel curious and challenged to embrace something new taking place.
There are four phases to this hoarding and in the end we will have created over 700m of hoarding that will be displayed on the construction site. Our involvement also included connecting the vision and strategy of Darling Harbour‘s own brand with the investors, Grocon’s and The Ribbon own objectives. Managing various stakeholder relationships involved in this project and implementing a part of them into the design was considered throughout our whole process.
We also created an accompanying website that offers a platform for events, news and other updates surrounding The Ribbon.
The future belongs to the curious. The ones who are not afraid to try it. Explore it. Poke at it. Question it and turn it inside out.
We are thrilled to be a part of creating the future and leaving a legacy through design and architecture.
