Uniting around a common vision: Project Highlights

It’s been a busy few months here at Mezz – along with ‘business as usual’ we released our annual $10k Project Grant in April that saw over 100 projects submitted.

We were inspired by the diversity of applications that came through and are still on a high. Whether they’re a not-for-profit, social enterprise, for-profit business or organisation, a common vision to make a difference and contribute something positive to our world unites us.

With many of our clients now clear on their purpose, they are ready to take conscious action towards their potential as a business. But to grow sustainably, they needed guidance to focus on their short-term goals and long-term impact, which is where we came in, especially over the past few months.

Scroll down to take a look at some of the exciting projects we’ve been working on.

Impact Report for Paul Ramsay Foundation

The Paul Ramsay Foundation (PRF) builds and invests in partnerships with a shared commitment to break cycles of disadvantage in Australia and achieve lasting change. We were approached to create their new ‘Impact in Progress’ report, which presents snapshots of their initiatives and reflective updates on their path towards transformative impact. Pausing to recognise progress as an individual and collective is crucial to sustaining motivation and accelerating change, so we admire their dedication in creating this report and using it to prompt reflection and inspire curiosity within their internal team. We have loved collaborating on this project and look forward to working with them on many more.

Launch collateral for the inaugural Young Board Director Awards

Future Directors Institute were the deserving winners of our $10k Project Grant. They’re “changing the face of the boardroom” by accelerating diversity, inclusion and innovation in the boardroom and providing a pathway for conscious leaders to create greater impact. Boards have tremendous influence but without value-aligned people, and the right knowledge, they’re unable to play their part in positive change.

With their inaugural Young Director Awards coming up, we’ll be working with Paul and the team to successfully launch the awards and not only boost nominations through campaign collateral but amplify their voice afterwards. The awards celebrate and empower next-gen directors, giving them a platform to tell their stories and inspire others. It’ll be a gateway into bigger conversations and advocacy about the role of boards and who should be in the room – note: diversity is key.

Partnering with Surfing the Spectrum

This year saw more for-purpose project applications than any other year so picking just one winner for our $10k Project Grant was quite a difficult task. After much to-ing and fro-ing between the team, we decided to select a runner up to partner with and donate our time and expertise.

Surfing the Spectrum is an incredible not-for-profit that provides surf therapy initiatives for children with Autism. Amiee, Tahlia and the team are passionate about making the ocean accessible to everyone and have a big mission to make communities more inclusive for people with a disability. With the help of volunteers, they run free learn to surf events in a safe environment, building self-belief, ocean awareness and water safety for those who participate. We can’t wait to help such a great organisation and watch their impact grow.

Digital marketing activation for Jenny’s Place

After launching their new website late last year to better meet the needs of both the organisation and site visitors, we moved onto the next phase of developing a customer relationship management (CRM) system, digital marketing plan and campaign to support their fundraising strategy.

Our goal was to enable Jenny’s Place to build donations to fund their Domestic Violence Resource Centre – a crucial service operating in the Hunter supporting women experiencing domestic violence and homelessness. It was important that the CRM system could enable donor recording, had sales functionality and would integrate with digital marketing seamlessly. We are also developing a 12-month digital marketing strategy and content plan, activating it in an integrated way through social media, email and referral marketing. We love working and supporting the team at Jenny’s Place as they continue to flourish in their service and donor community.

Creating seamless online experiences for Leah Jay

We’ve been busy working with the Leah Jay team to heighten their online experience after developing a new website for them last year to better serve their future vision. Before jumping in, we began with a strategy session to ensure the goals were clear and the solution was going to be sustainable and impactful. Creating a seamless, lead-nurture system was key, meaning their staff can spend more time connecting with clients and more qualified leads rather than managing digital platforms and processes manually.

To do this, we’re activating lead generation funnels for new website visitors starting their journey with Leah Jay, ensuring each user encounters the right experience based on their needs. Journey mapping allowed us to understand the complete flow of user interaction and tailor the whole process from landing on the website through to email capture where a series of personalised yet automated eDMs will be sent out depending on certain scenarios and actions taken. To further allow them to focus on what they do best, we created brand-aligned social media templates to increase efficiency and build brand awareness. Integration with their existing CRM and the development of a clear reporting system for all their digital marketing will also provide Leah Jay with more visibility, ease of management and ability to build valuable content to suit their clients needs.
